AudioSwitch Pro

macOS 12 or later · Universal

Every audio device, one click away

Outputs and inputs in a single window, always current. Click to switch — or give any device a keyboard shortcut and never open the app at all.

Coming to the Mac App Store. The app is built and submitted for review. There is no public download yet — this page will carry the link the day it is approved.

Free to switch devices, forever $9.99 one-time to unlock keyboard shortcuts

AudioSwitch Pro showing output and input devices in one list, with keyboard shortcuts assigned to several of them.

Small app, one job, done properly

No menu-bar clutter, no subscription, no account to create.

Outputs and inputs, together

Speakers, headphones, Bluetooth and microphones in one list — the thing System Settings splits across two panes. Devices appear and disappear as you plug them in. Star the ones you actually use so they stay on top.

Keyboard shortcuts Pro

Assign your own key combination to any device, plus one to summon the panel. Works from any app, without switching to this one.

See which mic is live

A live input level meter next to the active microphone, so you know before you start talking — not thirty seconds into the call.

Bluetooth that reconnects

Headphones that have wandered off still show in the list. Click one and the app reconnects it instead of leaving you to hunt in Settings.

Nothing leaves your Mac

No analytics, no accounts, no telemetry. Your preferences stay in the app's own container. Read the privacy policy.

Intel and Apple Silicon

One universal build, native on both. macOS 12 Monterey or later, on any Mac Apple still supports.

Questions

Does it need microphone permission?

No. The app switches which device macOS uses; it never records audio. It does not ask for microphone access, and it cannot hear anything.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. It is a single In-App Purchase of $9.99. Buy it once and it applies to every Mac signed in to the same Apple Account — use Restore Purchase in Settings on the second machine.

Why does the free version exist at all?

Because switching an audio device is the part everyone needs, and metering it would be mean. The shortcuts are the part that saves you time every day, so that is the part that is paid.

Which macOS versions work?

macOS 12 Monterey and later, on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It ships as a single universal build.
